Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 1, 2026

PocketPace is a budgeting app built to work entirely on your device. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the app collects, what it doesn't, and how the two third-party services it uses (Google AdMob and Google Play Billing) handle data on their end.

The short version

Information you enter into the app

PocketPace stores the following directly on your device, using a local database (Room/SQLite) and local app preferences:

None of this is transmitted to us or to any server — PocketPace doesn't have one. We (the developer) have no way to see your financial data, and we don't want to.

Exporting your data

Settings → "Export data (CSV)" writes a CSV file of your expenses to a location you choose on your own device, using Android's standard file picker. That file is created and controlled entirely by you; PocketPace doesn't send it anywhere.

Biometric app lock

If you turn on the optional biometric lock, unlocking the app is handled entirely by Android's own BiometricPrompt system. PocketPace never receives, stores, or transmits your fingerprint, face data, or any other biometric data — the OS simply tells the app "unlocked" or "not unlocked."

Information collected automatically

PocketPace itself does not use any analytics, crash-reporting, or tracking SDK. The only automatic data collection comes from the two Google services below, which operate under their own privacy policies:

ServiceWhat it's forWhat it may collect
Google AdMob Shows a small banner ad on the Trends screen only (never on Home) Advertising ID, general device/app info, and approximate location, used by Google and its ad partners to select and measure ads
Google Play Billing Processes the one-time "Remove ads" purchase Purchase status and receipt data, handled entirely by Google Play — PocketPace never sees or stores your payment details

You can read more about how Google handles this data here:

App permissions

PermissionWhy PocketPace asks for it
NotificationsTo alert you when today's spending nears or crosses your limit. Generated on your device; you can turn this off in Settings.
Run at device startupSo scheduled budget alerts still fire after you restart your phone.
BiometricOnly used if you enable the optional app lock; see above.
Internet / network stateNeeded only for the AdMob banner and Play Billing purchase described above. Every other feature works fully offline.

Data sharing and sale

We don't sell your information — we don't have any to sell. We don't share data with anyone, because PocketPace doesn't collect or transmit your budgeting data in the first place. The only data in play is what Google's AdMob and Play Billing SDKs collect directly, under Google's own privacy policy, not ours.

Data retention and deletion

Your data lives on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can:

Because we never receive a copy of your data, there is nothing stored on our end to separately delete.

Children's privacy

PocketPace is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at the address below and we'll address it.

This policy is written to accurately describe what PocketPace (package com.dailybudget.app) actually does. It's a solid starting point for a Play Store listing, but it isn't legal advice — if you plan to publish widely or operate in regions with specific rules (like GDPR in the EU or CCPA in California), it's worth a quick review by a lawyer before launch.
