Terms of Service

Last updated: September 1, 2026

These terms cover your use of PocketPace, an Android app for tracking personal spending. By installing or using PocketPace, you agree to them.

1. What PocketPace is

PocketPace is a personal budgeting and expense-tracking tool. It helps you track spending against a budget you set, and surfaces reminders and observations based on that data. It's provided as-is, for personal, non-commercial use.

2. Not financial advice

PocketPace is a tracking and organization tool, not a financial, investment, tax, or legal adviser. Nothing in the app — including budget suggestions, spending insights, or auto-generated tasks — is professional financial advice. Decisions about your money are yours to make; consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

3. Your data and account

PocketPace doesn't require an account and stores your budgeting data locally on your device. You're responsible for your device and for backing up your data (for example, via the CSV export feature) if you want a copy outside the app. See the Privacy Policy for details on what's stored and where.

4. Ads and purchases

PocketPace shows a small banner ad, served by Google AdMob, on the Trends screen. You can remove ads permanently with a one-time in-app purchase, processed by Google Play Billing. All payments are handled by Google Play; refunds, billing disputes, and payment methods are governed by Google Play's own terms, not by us directly.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't use PocketPace to try to interfere with its normal operation, reverse engineer it beyond what's permitted by law, or use it for anything unlawful.

6. Intellectual property

The PocketPace app, its design, and its content are owned by its developer. Your own budgeting data always belongs to you.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

PocketPace is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any calculation, insight, or alert will be accurate for your situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including decisions made based on its budgeting calculations or insights.

9. Changes to the app or these terms

We may update PocketPace or these terms over time. If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

This is a standard indie-app terms template tailored to what PocketPace actually does — not legal advice. A quick review by a lawyer is still worth it before wide release, but the substance here is ready to use.
